THE FOUNDER OF OUR CHURCH, Mary Baker Eddy discovered that, through her own personal prayer and healing answers, Christ Jesus’ healing ministry continues to be readily available for healing in today’s world. She named her discovery Christian Science and published her findings in the best selling book: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Mrs. Eddy established The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, U.S.A., provided for our impersonal Pastor and set up the worldwide organization of branch churches. Fifth Church, Dallas is one of these branches.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE IS A CHRISTIAN FAITH based on the inspired word of the Bible with its healing answers. Its textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, provides a thorough explanation of healing through prayer as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus. Its cornerstones are the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus and the spirit of our religion is embodied in the following statement:
And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure. (Science & Health page 497)

purpose of these Weekly Bible Lessons is to promote Bible inspiration, a deep
appreciation for Christ Jesus – the essence of Christianity, prayer answers, and
Christian Science healing. Bible healings are featured every week
and correlative guidance is given for prayer answers and Christian Science
healing. You can also explore these Bible Lessons further using Christian
Science Quarterlies containing Weekly Bible Lessons. These can be purchased from
our Reading Room or ordered
online. Each Sunday, these Bible lessons are also read
during Sunday Services in our Church,
Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist. In addition, our church holds Wednesday
Testimony Meetings when testimonies of healing through prayer are given.
